Dine with the priests Mogens & Lena in a historical mansion

Month: April 2021

The Story.

Imagine you are driving through the deep, enchanting forests of Sweden. You have got your best friends with you, and there’s a mischievous glint in the air, a premonition that something thrilling is about to happen. Perhaps it’s the atmospheric fog lingering below the treeline, or the surreal setting of the myths and legends of Lapland. All of a sudden, you stop in front of a great historic mansion. Today the mansion stands frozen in time; a glorious relic of the notorious era of the roaring twenties.

Curious, you step inside the imposing front door and are immediately thrown back in time. Clothes are exchanged for authentic 1920’s attire and you are handed a Mary Pickford cocktail to enjoy whilst your charming host gives you a tour of the residence.  You explore the property and its enigmatic atmosphere, each room revealing something more spectacular than the last and finally in an unexpected plot twist you are introduced to your two chefs for the evening a Priest couple, Lena and Mogens.

Delight in the wild and outlandish stories regaled by your local hosts over a sumptuous three-course feast, with dishes hand selected from a legendary cookbook that’s over 100 years old. Finish the evening in true flapper style in the glamorous salon where you will enjoy listening to gramophone music from the 1920s and 30s while Mogens, Lena and your host reveal incredible secrets about life in the village and the surrounding wilderness.  Relish these thrilling stories you won’t read in any book. Perhaps Lena or Mogens will ask you to dance?

If you are interested in meeting genuine locals to take a “once in a lifetime” story to home with you then you will not be disappointed, although perhaps the tale will be so outrageous that no one will believe you when you attempt to share it…

The Profile.

This is the story of two priests who found the perfect place to combine work, family life and wilderness activities.

Lena who was born and raised on a farm outside Hudiksvall was an active scout growing up. She began her religious studies in 1994 in Umeå and was ordained a priest for Luleå diocese in 2000. She first met her future husband Mogens at a priest meeting in Skellefteå in 2003 and two years later she moved to the village where they would also marry. Even though Lena looks like an innocent female priest she has a licence to kill – moose! She is active in the village’s hunting team and anyone who doesn’t think priests love dancing should watch out for her hidden talents.

Mogens was born into the Danish minority in northern Germany, an educated theologian from Aarhus University in Denmark, he studied his Masters in Kyoto, Japan. During his studies he got the opportunity to work on development projects in East Africa. After his exams he worked in the student parish of Aarhus and in 2003 he became a priest in the village where he later married Lena. Mogens has been working as a mobile priest for the Swedish Church abroad since 2015 so has lots of interesting stories from his travels. He has travelled to various places including India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Singapore, South Korea, Japan and the Philippines. As a “flying priest”, he is a celebrant for worship, performs baptisms, weddings and confirmations. He also participates at various events organized by the Chamber of Commerce, Swedish companies or embassies. Less glamourous work is when he visits imprisoned Swedes who wish to make confession and these stories of course are the only ones he cannot divulge.

Story includes:

  • Private access to a historical Swedish mansion
  • A welcome artisan cocktail & meet & greet with hosts
  • Guided tour of the Art Deco property
  • 1920´s / 30´s outfits to borrow for the evening

THE VILLA – A bizarre dinner gathering with Robert & Mikael

Month: April 2021

The Story.

We have all heard about several ‘Facebook parties‘ that spiralled out of control or posh clubs with too much hustle and bustle. Those generic parties are history! If you want to escape the mainstream and lose your mind in an isolated place then the Villa is your ticket to bliss. Robert and Mikael have created a revolutionary new privé dinner party concept, behind closed doors. The guests enter a world of the outrageous, prohibited, and mysterious. To prevent any secrets leaking outside of the place every guest must hand in their mobile phone upon arrival. The rule is what happens inside, stays inside. The whole venue is used as a stage, the guests never know what to expect and are constantly surprised by impromptu performances. From dancers and entertainers to musicians and acrobatic artists, all with a little touch of fetish, sensuality, and raw physicality.

As the evening unfolds you will get an underlying feeling of being at an exclusive vip party blended with the freak show The Box. The concept-driven aesthetics and secret house party theme lend a unique ambiance to the entire event. The Villa is an unforgettable experience, a scavenger hunt of the bizarre, accompanied with amazing style, atmospheric music, delicious food and delectable drinks. But it would not be completed without its tireless hosts Robert and Mikael, their dinner party concept is all about delivering a real emotional experience for their guests, to create many stories that the guests will carry with them long after the actual event.

Warning: this is not another generic event. The VILLA is an edgy experience for corporates, small groups and friends looking for the ultimate privé dinner party that is totally out of the box.

The Profile.

With the slogan ”Louder music, Less conversations” Robert Pihl and Mikael Wennerros conquered Stockholm´s nightlife scene in 2013 with a new after work party called Out of Office After work (OOOW). What once started as a small after work gathering for friends ended with 11.000 party people lining up for a massive outdoor event at Kungsträdgården in 2014. The rest is history! Today both are established entrepreneurs in the event industry and attract young professionals from the media, finance, IT and marketing industry to their monthly 5-9pm after work club. Robert Pihl and Mikael Wennerros first met at the advertising school Berghs in Stockholm in 2004 and became friends quickly. Robert graduated as an art director, he spent 10 years working as a media consultant solving communication problems for some of the biggest brands in the world before he started his entrepreneurial event career.

During the same period Mikael collected experiences as a project leader at a global food chain before he signed in to Out of Office. Meanwhile Robert is a true master in creative thinking and sometimes comes up with very bizarre ideas, Mikael is a master of managing and coordinating projects. Few entrepreneurs complete each other so well to create the most energetic, fun and bizarre happenings in Sweden. They love to entertain the crowd themselves too.  Mikael will spin the turntable decks whilst Robert performs an impromtu rap. When they are off work the business partners love to eat great food, taste fine wines, travel, and set up scary pranks.

Which prank is Robert´s favorite one? What did Mikael do in the deep Amazon? Would you like to listen to Robert´s own electronic music? Why does Mikael serve Finnish bear steak at his private dinners? What is the craziest thing that has happened at OOOW?

A start-up tour in the entrepreneurial world of Jessica Stark

Month: April 2021

The Story.

Stockholm has been called the “Unicorn capital of the world”, or the “Unicorn Factory”. In fact, more billion-dollar unicorn startups have been produced in Stockholm per capita than in any other city in Europe. So if you are wondering where you can find up-and-coming entrepreneurs in Stockholm then sign up for this inspiring startup tour with Jessica Stark. With many years of know-how in the industry the “Startup mother” of Stockholm, Jessica Stark, will be your personal guide and door opener to Stockholm´s startup community. She explains how the entrepreneurial scene started, developed, and turned into an established startup scene.  More interesting are her own reflections and stories concerning her challenges as an early initiator in a very competitive scene.

This informal educational day also includes face-to-face discussions, on-site learning activities, behind-the-scenes experiences and interactive encounters with founders, creators, visionaries, experts and entrepreneurs – all who are storytellers of a business idea. The tour gives you behind the scenes access to the Stockholm Startup ecosystem where Jessica introduces you to creative leaders who educate, simplify, motivate and launch entire movements. This will help to ignite your own inner fire and provide valuable inspiration for your own life. With Jessica´s insider knowledge you have the chance to acquire deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities within Stockholm’s entrepreneurial world. The aim is to strengthen your understanding of a company´s creativity while sharing experiences and learning from different industry sectors. Tell us which innovation related topics interest you the most and we will make sure we get you the best stories to bring home with you.

The Profile.

Jessica Stark is one of Sweden’s most influential entrepreneurs, frequently cited in the media and involved in many business ventures. She has been working with business start-ups for the past 15 years and is specialized within innovation, entrepreneurship, networking, business development and leadership & business culture. Her big breakthrough came with her role as co-founder and CEO of the startup cluster SUP46 (Start-Up People of Sweden) which developed into one of Europe´s leading hubs for fast-growing tech companies in 2013. Jessica quickly gained the nickname “startup mother” based on her passion for maturing the Swedish startup ecosystem and empowering the growth of companies. Jessica currently runs her own agency focusing on business development and boardroom work but she also participates in many international networks. Her involvement and effort has been awarded many times, amongst others, by the global business platform BNI (Business Network International) as “Business Networker of the Year” in Sweden and by EU-Startups as “Europe’s most influential women in the startup and venture capital space”.

When Jessica shuts down her laptop, she loves to be out in nature, take long walks with her dog, sailing, gardening or DIY on her house. It gives her peace of mind. The competitive instinct and drive to perform is something that has characterized most of Jessica’s life. Her life philosophy is “To dare, is to lose one’s foothold for a little while – not to dare, is to lose oneself”. The dream of becoming a film star is unfortunately still on ice, but for her daughter, Jessica has instead become a successful storyteller.

What was the biggest challenge in her career? How did Jessica become a flambéing enthusiast? In which sport did she perform as one of the best in Sweden when only 11 years old? Which animal is she at war with in Ekerö where she lives? Which of the many startup businesses are her favourite?
